Educational Travel

Besides its various programs, CEI sponsors special field trips and other educational travel experiences that help young people in Daly City and to motivate them to do well in school.

In conjunction with the Close Up Foundation, CEI has sent 37 Jefferson honors students to Washington, D.C. to visit the U.S. Congress, the Smithsonian Institution, and meet their elected representatives.

CEI splits the cost with The Experiment in International Living to send two Jefferson students on an overseas visit for six weeks during the summer.

CEI also supports the Sojourn into the Past program, which sent six Jefferson High students on a 10-day tour of the Deep South with other students from around the country to learn about the Civil Rights Movement.

CEI paid to send 50 students to the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles and to visit the UCLA campus.
