The goal of this program is to academically prepare incoming ninth grade students in their transition between middle school and high school.

The program offers four courses:

1. Math
2. English
3. a high school readiness course
4. Physical Education

Classes are given and closely monitored by a team of accredited teachers, counselors and tutors.

Each summer, CEI serves approximately 100 low achieving eighth students who will enter Jefferson High School as ninth graders in the Fall.
