CEI Scholarships

Children's Empowerment, Inc. distributed $85,000 in the form of CEI College Scholarships to graduating high school seniors at Jefferson High School who have been accepted into post-secondary education programs. Awards were presented to students at Jefferson's Senior Awards Night held on May 12, 2011.

The funds were made available by a competitive grant award from the College Access Foundation of California and were awarded to selected seniors who demonstrated a financial need and are the first generation in their family to attend college. A total of 47 students received one-year scholarships, with $3,000 for students attending a 4 year college and $1,000 for students attending a 2 year college. Students were selected by a committee of Jefferson High teachers and administrators.
