SPENCER HOLeMAN, FOUNDER

Mr. Holeman is Founder and Executive Director of CEI. He formed CEI as a non-profit agency, based on his years of personal experience in mentor ing and donating his personal time and money to disadvantaged youth in the San Francisco Bay Area.

He raised ten foster kids between 1972 and 1979 and spent the past 20 years working with at-risk high school students in San Francisco.

Mr. Holeman won the 2004 Golden Apple Award for Education from the Daly City/Colma Chamber of Commerce.

He developed the School within a School (SWAS program as Jefferson High School and the After School Homework/Tutorial Program, using Jefferson advance placement and honors students as peer tutors and mentors.

He developed the first-ever Summer School Transition Program in 2005.
